Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Arranges furnishings and equipment for the purpose of providing adequate preparation for meetings, classroom activities, and events
  • Attends in-service training for the purpose of receiving information on new and/or improved procedures
  • Cleans assigned school district facilities (i.e. classrooms, offices, safe shelters, gyms, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, grounds, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe, attractive environment
  • Daily attendance and punctuality are required for the purpose of ensuring the goals of the work unit can be met
  • Delivers various items (i.e. supplies, packages, furniture, etc.) for the purpose of distributing materials to the appropriate parties
  • Helps respond to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (i.e. facility damage, alarms, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action to resolve immediate safety issues and maintaining a functioning physical and educational environment
  • Inspects school district facilities for the purpose of ensuring site is suitable for safe operations and maintained in an attractive and clean condition, and identifying any repairs that may be necessary due to vandalism, equipment breakage, weather conditions, etc.
  • Assumes responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each school day and for determining before leaving that all doors and windows are secured and all lights except those left on for safety reasons, are turned off
  • Services job-related machinery/equipment for the purpose of maintaining equipment in good working condition. Also changes brushes, pads, rollers, etc. on equipment
  • Keeps bathrooms well stocked with toiletry items
  • Scrubs and disinfects toilet floors daily, and cleans all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily
  • Wash windows inside and outside
  • Keeps grounds free of debris
  • Makes minor repairs and reports major repairs to principal or supervisor
  • To maintain a sense of pride in the areas of responsibility which are presented to the public
  • Assist with building security by making routine facility checks, reporting any suspicious occurrences, and securing buildings daily
  • Display professionalism in appearance, attitude, and actions
